Strike OutA Poem by Margret Sent
It was too much, just too much
Enough is enough, you're hurting this bad You've fought all your life, how do you know when to give up When it wouldn't have made a difference if you did not You're trying and you're trying, but three strikes and you're out You thought you did your best but all there was to it was doubt You can act all tough but it's tearing you up inside A weak heart, a weak soul, it's as if you just died You try to build walls no one can break down But even you don't know how to get out You lock yourself in, but you threw away the key Up to what level now is your insanity You cry and you curse, why did it have to be like this You can be dead now but you won't even be missed You ask yourself what worth there is to live You held on to light, but you were only deceived They said love was what brought along hope in the dark But why has it brought emptiness into an already empty life Was it your fault or did the world just want you out You thought you were anonymous, but your silence seemed to be so loud You knew then you were different, you had a fire within you But you kept the flames in, not knowing what to do And now that darkness is all that it seems You realize that your flames keep bursting in You were the light in the dark You should know that well All the pain and weakness aside Yours is a story too great to tell 09.10.12 11:39 AM © 2013 Margret Sent |
