Fighting A Losing BattleA Poem by Margret Sent
You know all the right words to say
Just when I’m about to walk away I wanted a fight, I needed back my pride Why do you keep on winning even when I’m right I had all my reason and points of attack Had the perfect strategy until I fell into your trap Physical pain, I would have gladly taken that Just please don’t hurt my heart, it has had enough
You used love against me and I could not comprehend How could you be so heartless? I had nothing in my defense The worst is that when I came to this battlefield I came prepared But still found myself dumbfounded when I saw you right there You were supposed to rescue me just like any other knight But instead your shining armor lost all its light My hero turned to be a villain, my prince turned to be in disguise You had the perfect props, you said the perfect lies And I fell, I just fell through it all I still kept on going in even when you were building your walls Now I’m left in this battlefield, feeling used and alone Crying, fading, my whole existence is gone 07.21.12 12:19 AM
