Alone With The Moon

Alone With The Moon

A Poem by jane kelley

Alone With the Moon

In the silence of the evening
in the misty shadows of the moonlight
I feel so alone and lost
wishing you were here tonight

I feel like a dying rose
longing for the sun
with only the moon and stars
to comfort me when I'm so alone

I hear only the stillness
the way my heart pounds
even in a crowded room
with people all around

Everywhere are reminders of you
the memories always make me smile
and when I linger with the moon
I feel you with me a little while

In the hush of the night
I whisper your name and you appear
I close my eyes to feel your touch
in my heart you always here

That longing, feeling someone's touch even though they are gone, or many miles away is so real, so powerful. Excellent writing Jane, I see this was from over ten years ago, but it still just as true today.
