You Talk About HarmonyPeaceLove
You talk about harmonylovepeace While I starve upon these goddamn streets In your US cities, Venezuela , Africa and the Philippines You buy your mini McMansions Cram them full of throwawaylifecrap While I sleep in the elements Cardboard boxes are My home You are snuggly cozy in Winter And cooled nicely but in the Summers Fierce heat I am scorched by the sun And frozen chilled to my bones nearly not Surviving the cold You talk about harmonypeacelove In your church In your pew The stench of your hypocrisy Outstrips my lack hygiene Sitting here on the street Reaching out my hand Saying “brother can you spare me a dime” You look Over Under Up down Past me As if I am part of the sidewalk The scenery You talk about lovepeaceharmony As you pronounce women to be the “ gentler sex” Weaker More prone to hysteria And fainting Please pass me the smelling salts Come on now let’s get real I am woman And equal to you I have earned this badge of freedom Of respect After spending a lifetime fending off your advances Your condescending attitude That I am less than you Or even worse When you use your superior strength to beat me into submission You can keep your harmonypeacelove Put it where the sun don’t shine Until you understand that harmony Is collaborating through this life That we come to agreement as equals I no lesser than you Until you understand that peace Resides hand in hand with compassion That it permeates our beings And culture with calmness Until you understand that love Is sacrifice and giving the very best of ourselves To each other © 2019 jane7z |
