Saccharine

I find myself jaded with the word sweet but that is how I write sometimes but a common theme in my form of creativity is that all these words are mine whether inspiring or cloying

Saccharine

Sweeeeeet
a word
cloying like saccharine
depositing bitterness on
the tongue

slides down my writer's craw
burning on the way down


I write "sweet"
to keep back the sour

words of
hope
love
light
keeps my shadow at bay

encouragement
remembrance
undermine cleverness lol

really that's okay
this whole exercise
is that the words are mine
anyway

whether I spread
on the bread of life
acidic
or honey
