The Reel ThingA Poem by jane7zDedicated to those who get it, give it and live it
The reel thing
It's not found in movies Or a Hallmark card Not about getting your rocks off Or playing a part It's concretely elusive Like the one who got away Can't be smothered Which causes it to fade Can't be bought With Bill Gates millions Or created by a spell Is not a fantasy But a living out Day to day It can't be promised with a prenup Or forced by someone's hand It's not a crap shoot or poker game Doesn't show off In a zuit suit It is fought for And grows in spite of fears It endures pain Sorrow Opens its heart to hear It knows the voice of Of the one it cares for It is love enduring over And over As it winds down All our years © 2013 jane7z |
