Stand in The Gap

I will never keep my mouth shut
When against abuse
I have a responsibility to step up

I will never lay the pen down
Let the ink dry
Make my words echo the cries
Of the oppressed

I wont stand down
When victims and broke hearted
Lives are strewn on the ground

I will encourage my brother
My sister
There is always hope
As long as the spirit is willing
And ready to fight

Perhaps these words are all I possess
But during your long nights of mourning
Waiting for a ray of Hope
I stand in the gap for you
