Goodbye Christopher Robin

I had a very lovely friend

he showed my how to live life again.

he took me to the mountains so high and steep

to heights of beauty most people don’t reach

he took me to the beach and we flew kites like children

he was ever so patient with me

 

He tried to understand and be patient

and I tried having empathy

for the deep wounds we each had in our hearts

but misunderstanding and those difference crept in

putting a wedge between me and him

my heart got in the way

i forgot how to play with my friend

he found another whose love was true

who suited him so much better than i

now they are on those grand adventures

and having fun

goodbye my friend goodbye.

I will miss you

i wish my heart would behave but it just won’t

when I am around you

it won’t let go.

I can’t do that to you anymore

cause you frustration

cause you to run for the door.
