To Be or Not to Be

2007 rather idealistic makes me sound like a superhero lol.

I have but one choice to live my life from my heart

to not hide away like a little child sniveling in the dark

to love each time as if it was new

even when not returned

to forgive and forget and embrace each wrong turn inflicted

by another precious being as if I have never been burned

 care about others when they would use me up

for their own selfish desires

As if I was put here to help them meet their needs

to be courageous and laugh in the face of my many fears

as if I dressed my heart in full armor immune to wounds

I will open myself up to learn to give

in a world that goes after number one

I will pour out compassion on others

even if I am the only one

I will not turn a blind eye to evil

I will try to do what is right

even if it stirs the waters

If it means at the end of my days

I became of woman of Light

Who wasn't afraid of her shadows being exposed to the sun

and held the torchlight up for others in the darkness of the night.
