I dreamed in Native last night
my ancestors were gathered whispering wisdom in my dreams they whispered their stories in my dreams through caverns and canyons of years from miles and miles walking the trail of tears I dreamed in Native last night and understood the dream I dreamed in Celtic last night The soothing lilt of a thousand years Sad half smile calling down the years Wild drums follow the rythym of a heartbeat So many tears staining the ground Each one pushes back up a flower I dreamed in Swedish last night Fierce Vikings seeking the world savage cold Women wait for them at home I dreamed my ancestors were gathered I dreamed in native last night That the drums of every nation beat at the same time Skin of every color Red yellow black white Melted into mine There stories Were my history Without reason or rhyme © 2013 jane7zReviews
