Skin and Bones

Skin and Bones

A Poem by jane7z

Skin and bones

I live in this skin
Extremely thin
Let's the words in
And twist them
Wrong sometimes

Live with these bones
Frail
Yet strong enough to
Carry me
Everywhere

I live in this body
Sturdy yet fragile
Struggling yet
Wishing to play
Made up of skin and bones

I live
My spirit ethereal
Floats around the corporeal
Waiting for
The day it will
Leave
Skin
And bones behind
and be free

This is a fantastic, well-constructed, vibrant poem. Excellent usage of timing and imagery repetition of theme to illustrate your point.
