Final JourneyA Poem by jane7z
Final Journey
You have set out for an alien country
a journey to be made by one I can not follow you My time will arrive soon enough no way to reach over that chasm and pull you back When you shed the flesh and bones and stepped into eternity Too young to leave us Full of spirit and memories you had your whole life in front of you Gone in a blink of an eye. Reminding us how frail we are My mind is mute no adequate words of comfort for your family escape these lips The terrible sorrow is to be born there is no escape Even in the midst of the endless night of grief there is hope that your spirit will never cease is now engaged in a destination Where arms of those who have made that final journey will welcome you © 2013 jane7z |
