Longing

Longing is stretching out my arms to hold you
but you are many miles away
Longing is my heart beating in rhythm to yours
with time putting up road blocks between us
Longing is hearing your voice and my spirit
leaps and dances inside
I can barely contain the joy
when you call me
Longing is night after night wondering
if our kindred spirits will ever be
rejoined
Longing is living each day
wanting to caress you face
to sweetly kiss your lips
Longing is going on loving
in spite of the pain
Being happy that I feel for you
and always will
Never knowing if around the bend
in life's road
