Due to circumstancesA Poem by jamsdaviesIt's about growing upDue to Circumstances Beyond Our Control Due to circumstances beyond our control this boy can’t play today, His capacity for childish grins and faces pulled, For stories wild and jokes fast told, Gone. Due to circumstances beyond our control this boy can’t sing today, His whistled tunes and silly rhymes, His simple verse of funny times, Silenced. Due to circumstances beyond our control this boy can’t dream today, No super jets in soaring skies, or big fast cars and good guy spies, Ended. Due to circumstances beyond our control this boy can’t be today, He’s had to turn to bigger themes, matters of importance not stupid schemes. Responsibility. Due to circumstances beyond our control this boy as best he can must turn and face that in truth he is a man. JD
