ODES OF WARA Poem by Jamil IsimbabiI think of the day when all this bloodshed would splash on the flags and stain them red The day we would wish we don't have to teach our kids how to draw flags with stains of red Trapped in a place where bullets of lead are the lines between the living and the dead That day those soldiers shooting shells cozened to fight for leaders living well Would wish they fought instead for their sons hugs and lovers beds Would wish they fought to live than fought to die with a chandelier of guilt hanging in mind
