Chambered NautilusA Poem by jamiereneeangellove and loss
Left among the chambers
of the hollowed out shell, fighting not to eat the sweet-meat filaments of ocean flesh still clinging in strands to mother-of-pearl in the deepest, darkest corners. Slumbering in an icicle draped blanket gathered round your matted fur. Tears freezing and melting in your beard. Listening to the wind whistle, pared down in the bone-thin cracks. Haunting the halls like a ghost, treading with soft, heavy stumbles into a dusky bed of velvet. Bemoaning the stars and refusing the hushed-dusk mothering of the moon. I found you barefoot and half-asleep at the edge of the tulip garden. I put my finger to my lips. © 2014 jamiereneeangel |
