expressions

expressions

A Poem by Somebody you've already forgoten

Expressions show what your thinking

Or what your not

They tell what your hiding

Your secrets spilling off of every inch of your face

But some people mask their expressions

So that nothing leaks through but the fake smile on your face

But sometimes people see through your mask

And your fake smile

Cause eventually it will slip and we will see what your hiding

Sometimes we will leave you alone

Not wanting to know the truth behind that smile

Because we know we will see what you have been hiding

Other times we will care enough to find the reason that made you hide

And we will try to make it better

Yeah I wish

Great poem to express yourself. Good work!

This reminds me of a book I've read.... (more than once, actually.) George Orwell's 1984. I don't necessarily recommend the book- it is quite disturbing. I'm not sure of your age- techonology makes that difficult, of course, but if you are not in high school I don't think you ought to look this one up just yet. Lots of torture and death and sexual content, etc.... But it is interesting and has some good messages and is insightful, so I recommend you do read it someday if you get the chance.

Anyway.... that's not important. I just want to tell you that your poems are quite insightful. They hold a deeper meaning, and I think that's most important in poetry. Great work on all your poems. Keep on Writing!
