Lover's Sands

Lover's Sands

A Poem by James Crouch

The salted sands glide, in the tide

As the golden glow washes away

The sparkling seas that have travelled far

Leaving only shells to stay

We walk barefoot, into the night

Lead by the moon’s soft, wholesome glow

Tied as one, into the dawn

If only you didn’t have to go

Knotted ropes, that line the bay

Keep our boat from sailing away

Fine wine, jazz and pictures of you

Let’s leave together, anyway

For the fun, for the laughs

I remember you softly, in the photographs

I’m dizzy with you, under a spell

All the stories, we’ll have to tell
