Two Doves

Two Doves

A Story by James Crouch

They stood together, holding hands in the schoolyard. The looks they got, they did not care for. Their love was powerful, stronger than anything. It could break down walls, shatter stone, divide waves. Her simple smile was like a spear, an angel of heaven in the breeze. She wore a plaid shirt, dirty jeans, unkempt hair. She stood as tall as a giant with her girlfriend. She felt like the fire that rips through the trees, her heart beating madly. Around the two girls, the world faded. All they needed to do was be.
