Canonization

Canonization

A Poem by Joshua Daniel

A quiet, gentle glance

between you and I.

One look in your eyes

the birds and the bees.

A ballet of bright wings

on a visceral stage.

You harbor the key,

unlock the cage.

A waltz in the sky.

Oh me, oh my.

A feeling of flight,

for this I will fight.

'Til death and on after.

The taste so sweet,

to be bound by a pastor.

Our hands: they are molded,

no one knows the caster

For this,

no more faster.

An eternal affair.

These seconds we master.
