Gone AwayA Poem by Julie A MartinFinally letting goHe walks away slowly I cannot see his face Can only imagine the sadness he hides inside out of pride It's over now A moment has come Memorize what we were Visualize what we had Agonize over the loss Treasure the memories A moment of hesitation as the car door shuts for the last time I watch him drive away until the car is no longer in sight. He's gone now, gone away, to a new life, on his own. I watch with dry eyes and a tearful heart Knowing it was for the best and hurting anyway. - See more at: https://scriggler.com/DetailPost/Poetry/35963#sthash.3AINePB5.dpuf© 2016 Julie A Martin |
