Dream chaserA Poem by wesleydaauthorI’m a dream chaser Running after a dream like speed racer I left my brain a thousand miles away My motivation lies in my demonstration All that is left, determination I said I loved you What I didn’t know was that love would cost I’m a star chaser, trying to keep a fleeting wish My right brain prays to just turn away My left brain entertains mind games Soaring on wings of steel The will of fire This love lacks passion and logic If both are missing, what is it I desire? You are heavy hearted, made of stone Yet, I want you to fly me past the sky I am a fantasy chaser; I like to hear tall tales I enjoyed the story about two estranged lovers One was dedicated, the same one was jaded One was constantly faded, everything sentimental was hated The two where polar opposites, yet they attracted Like oil to water, it did not quite mix Hydroplaned they did One lover was devastated, while the other was apathetic Deviated from the collision course, separated ways they were sent I can relate The reason I became a chaser Following lyrics with no sound A heartbeat minus words I am a love chaser Following ideas, concepts, theories, and proposals of love Basing life on chasing love with no end Just when it looks like it’s over, my love I surrender Close my eyes look for promises of affection and nights so tender A double edge sword, a gift and curse My heart cursed with this thing that’s a splinter
