Down the Hall; On the LeftA Story by benjamminghamContest for Escape Reality Enjoy <3
I stand, balancing on the curb. I stare across the street at the door. The blinking light of the Open signe ntices me- it calls to me. I cross the street and open the door.
I'm inside. There is one main room with several hallways branching off. The room is dimly lit and has a large oriental rug sprawling on the floor. In the midle, sitting cross legged, is an elderly balding man. "Why are you here?" he asks, staring at me. "I w-want to escape" I reply. "Escape what?" he raises an eyebrow. "R-reality. I want to escape reality." He pauses. "Reality is tricky. Are you strong enough?" "Yes." He stands up suddenly and moves his face inches from mine. "Down the Hall; On the Left" He points and smiles. I walk dazed following his instructions. At the door I pause. What I am about to do is unregrettable- I can never take this back. I twist the know and open the door. Everything has faded except for the darkness. The black clouds shed an eerie liight upon the sight beforeme. A maze. A large maze with twists and turns.A maze with no return. I take a deep breath. This is what I wanted. I begin to run.
