The Moment BeforeA Story by benjamminghamAbout saying goodnight before you leave...
It had been an amazing night. Indescribable. You just got back from dinner with the girl of your dreams. You drove her home safely within her curfew and you didn't make it awkward. But now it's goodbye.
The cool breeze is blowing her scarf back into her blonde wavy hair. You stand there for a moment looking into her eyes. Herlips are moving. She's saying how much she loved tonight. You nod, mesmerized. You don't want to pressure, but you're scared out of your mind. Is she going to kiss you? Should you go for it while she's talking? You've heard so much about these moments. Does your breath smell nice? They say you're supposed to go 90% of the way in and then let her go the rest of the 10%. But dang! 90% is really far.....she's looking at you now with expectant eyes. Dark and penetrarting, they see into your heart... She sighs. She understands that this hard for you. Hard for anyone, but specifically you. You re-evaluate your heart in a split second and then you've made your mind. You're going to go for it. Time slows down. You begin to lean forward and your hand finds her elbow. You pull her closer and begin to close your eyes. You mentally masure the distance....90%. You pause. She is frozen. You are frozen. In that beautiful, terrifying moment you are locked in the most intimate embrace of pure bliss. Will she do it? Will she make that decision to go the last 10? Suddenly, she leans forward and..... you are 100% in love with this girl.
