oath

oath

A Poem by Lyr J. Thirsk

dragon you havent been scathed,
no one has brushed their lips upon you,or threatened your one vulnerable scale, under which your ancient heart beats unknown, with thunder as its blood, and roses are your eyes. you havent knelt before a blade, no soul has confronted you yet without knowing fear.

no breath has cindered your skin,
no silk has magnified your ecstasy,
no kiss yet has emptied your mind,
no one has kissed you correctly yet,
oh dragon of mine
upon my oath i shall, as your fires may consume me, happily, without time.

Really enjoyed this poem. You managed to turn the dragon into something mystically romantic. Something to be desired. Were you inspired by my Fire Breathing Dragon that I posted today?
