I Imagine

I Imagine

A Poem by Jacob

I see a faint chain around my wrist
One that only tightens as the sun sets in the west
Will I be bonded by this faint chain?
Will I see the light from outside?
I imagine looking,
looking through a window
and seeing my predators rotting tree,
their gardens deprived of water.
Only one flower remains,
A hope of redemption in the future,
Crushed by the crow who picks at himself
I imagine seeing,
seeing a bright light wet my face
like the falling water wet the ground.
A breath of new air enter my lungs.
I look down at my wrists.
I see the chain, or do I?
Do I see the past which left marks on my wrists?
What do I see.
I imagine my life,
my life without a garden,
without a faint taste of fruit,
without the beautiful tree i can see.
I look down at my wrists.
Are these marks a part of my past?
Or do I imagine.

Author's Note

Jacob
This is my VERY first published poem. It is basically about the past and how it affects your psyche. I Love symbolism so every odd phrase means something. Leave me a good review!
