Broken CrystalA Poem by JakeA poem of loss, pain, and heartache.Felix stood still
in the middle Of the busy town
square His eyes were up,
his gaze was locked Blissfully
unaware. He drank in light from
stars that hung In cold and empty
spaces- Solemnly watching
over the town Full of hateful
faces.
He glared at the
dark heartless sky A voice cries out,
‘Die, Jew, Die’. His gaze unmoved
by the attacks As temple flames
warmed his back.
He stayed still as
the square pulsated, Small minds, by
hate invigorated. His cloudy gaze
drifted to the cold stone ground But shards of
glass were all he found.
Each glinting
fragment told its own story Covering the burning town
in resplendent glory. © 2015 Jake |
