Time-Out

Time-Out

A Poem by Jaisey Dawn

The world goes by, we don't even note;

All too focused on the "finer things."

Just wanting more like a car or boat,

never stop to hear how a bird sings.

We’re all like a colony of ants,

the same mind-numbing routine every day.

All that torment just to find some pants

And hear what ‘so and so’ has to say

Can we please just take some time to pause?

And soak in the beauty of the sea.

Everyone’s too busy breaking laws,

forgetting what they wanted to be.

 I'm not telling you to abandon it all.

I'm just asking you to look past the wall.
