She's tossed about,
as waves,
with horizon on her back,
and she faces the shore
where the sand carries her
to an island,
untouched.

Her mind is half-buoyant
and floats, barely,
above her heart that sinks;
and she thinks,
she sees,
and feels the swirl
below the current.

She's got waves of thought
that crash into themselves
and ripple–
too soft to wake and fall–
across the land
that's too far
to drift off to.

I like this. It is gentle and wistful. One gets the impression the figure in the poem is so expansive and struck by emotion that she just can't quite... I love the horizon on the back image. beautiful.
