Thick

Thick

A Poem by jaime
"

just curious thinking

"

How heavy is the air around the lump in the throat that chokes out the swallow?
Is it as thick as the consonants that swell on the tongue and weigh on my heart?
How delicate is the chew to digest the reasoning behind the long face,
and wet lashes, and dark pools that linger in circles below.

How thin is the skin around the smile on the lips of sad wonder?
Is it as shallow as the promises that once slipped the mind?
How tight should I hold the curious soul? How deep and how soft the fall?
How thick is the grip on the reigns of risk? And why is the left tug stronger?
