Redemption DayA Poem by Matt Stewart
The winds of change seem to be ceaseless, and I'm caught up in the tide;
Changes and wisdom are coming to pass and I find a different state of mind. Trust is fading in this world but my faith to in God remains. I won't give up, and I won't back down, now that the Father has called my name. I seek to make a difference where people fail to see; Love starts at the very core if you truly seek to be free. I'm no saint, prophet, or preacher, yet I carry ideals of peace; One body, undivided in encouragement and love is where we can find release. Release from hate, prejudice, and greed, to which we have been bound; We must humble ourselves and seek the Lord if hope is to ever be found. The things we chase will vanish in time when the truth shall be known, And the time has come to reconsider what road we've been on. Will we act out of hate of our brothers and sisters, or will we at last seek peace? God is now offering salvation to us, and it's the key to our release. This life is nothing but a vapor; it's here, and it's gone, Yet the choices we make always determine where we will belong. I've seen enough in this world to know all is not black and white; I've seen demons, felt the touch of angels that gave me clearer sight. In a nation that's abandoned God, I will raise my voice. To seek the beauty of God and His kingdom, this is my solemn choice. Words of the wicked sting like poison, and so many take it in. When will we seek the only strength to turn away from our favorite sins? I sense the clouds hanging overhead; we're in the calm of a raging storm. Time is of the essence, yet the faithful will not be alarmed. There are tears among the wheat in churches, dividing us left and right, Seeking control in their own fashion instead of turning to the inner light. How long will we turn away from love that is before us? How long can we say that there is peace when society is in a ruckus? Chaos is just a shout away, yet we're under the delusion nothings wrong. Money is the god of so many, and it's gone on way too long. Can you hear the truth that's shouted in the streets, the cries of the broken hearted? Don't leave your heart and soul as something fleeting and departed. Where does your value lie, in this world or in God? If we take the time to check ourselves, some of us have it all wrong. Bibles in America gather dust because "believers" aren't devoted. They say that they have genuine faith, yet don't have the discipline to own it. We'll meet hatred for spreading the Truth, that is all too clear, Yet if God's Spirit is within us death is nothing to fear. Choose this day whom you will serve, the darkness or the light. Come Lord Jesus, save us now from the greed of our evil plight.
