Every day here is such a blessing. It's still so amazing to see the evident love of the people that are so passionate about their faith. I won't say there hasn't been times when my sinful self got a hold of me; I've felt pride, I've been frustrated a few times, but all these feelings would soon drift away as I felt God's presence in this place. I can't believe it's Friday already; time has passed way too quickly. Today I spent mostly inside the classroom helping Mrs. Gladys teach the children phonics, reading to them, and teaching them new worship songs. It's always amazing to see the love and smiles on all their faces.

 

At 4:30 Keesa, Benny, Leo and I left for a local suburb in Jose Galvez that holds children's ministry on Friday nights. The terrain was hilly and muddy with much poverty, but the children there, as in La Roca, had a strong passion and love for God. On the way we picked up a girl named Yohana. She was very intelligent, funny, and loving as most of the girls here are. After the childrens Bible study we brought all the little ones back home, and Benny preached on Galatians 5:1-6. He is very obedient with God's word and makes it very practical. Benny just has the kind of character everyone loves. After Benny finished I was asked to give my testimony. As they listened and understood I felt like a huge burden had been lifted from me. It reminded me we are all one body, and as one body we must be united in love, trust, and faith.

 

On the way home Keesa, Benny and I taught Yohana some gospel songs, and eventually it turned into a concert. It feels so great to be around loving and encouraging people of the faith all the time here, and I'll be bringing some of that love back home.
