A Single Poet Treasured

A Single Poet Treasured

A Poem by Honestly, Abe

A single poet
Treasured-
You could say like the galleon
Depicting (our) fire
In a young boy’s palm
Or (in extinguishing the matter
and perhaps)
Overlooked-
You could say like the coat
Whose woolen flesh
Sags            beneath downpour
After downpour
Threading the very essence
Of what it means-           to live
Into the skin
On (our) backs
