Ballet

Ballet

A Poem by Honestly, Abe

She’s got on these tight
Can’t-breathe-deeply-enough
Tights and

He doesn’t quite know
Ballet or what color that is
Aurora pink          plié           tiptoe

She dips to perform, spins impressing
All in manner and movement
In a second-to-none routine

He notices the bend in her figure
The slip of what she intends
Or doesn’t           for him to see

Soft rose fills her cheek
Listen the quiet murmur of
Barely-contained shock

Her skin bursts for him
Erupting, blushing bloom
Plié           tiptoe

Pause to explode.
