Where Are You?

Losing your love.

Standing face to face, peer into my soul and feel the emotion.  Touch my hand gently and feel the perspiration of the expected.  Brush the hair from my eye and see my quivering lip.  A single tear falls and I blink.  You brush my cheek and I feel the familiar warmth in my heart.  A sigh escapes my parted lips muffled by your kiss goodbye.

I can't breathe.  Did you take my last breath when you walked away, wrapped up in your pocket next to the last love letter I wrote.  Every word penned with the ink of my soul, speaking to your heart.  Wasn't enough, apparently, to make you see your love for me.

Where are you, where have you gone to?  Did you wander away and just keep walking?  Maybe my heart strings weren't strong enough to hold onto you, to wrap around you and keep you safe from getting lost.
