In Your EyesA Poem by Jade MayhewIt's often said that someone's eyes
Are windows to their soul, Revealing if they act themselves Or simply play a role. Your eyes are right in front of me, So deep, so strong, so blue. The deeper I look into them, The more I learn of you. In your eyes, I see suffering, I see betrayal, I see pain. The ghosts of your past haunt your dreams, Driving you insane. Though in your eyes, there's so much pain, There's strength that they portray. Strength that helps to keep you fighting For just another day. There's friendship and there's happiness, A brightness in your eyes. A glimmer of pure innocence, Oblivious to lies. Hidden insecurities And love that's never faked. In your eyes, I see into your past; You've learned from your mistakes. There's such familiarity; I easily relate. A strong sense of adventure And inability to hate. Everything I've seen in you Is everything I've felt. It seems the window to your soul Was seen through a mirror in itself. © 2017 Jade MayhewFeatured Review
