You Love Me Not

You Love Me Not

A Poem by Jade Mayhew

Verse
They say love conquers everything,
That true love can work it through.
They think they know what's happening
Concerning me and you.
You're always such a pessimist;
You only see the pain.
But you only see the sunshine
If you have strength to bear the rain.

Chorus
I know that you've been cheatin'.
My heart's what you've been beatin'.
You're never into what you've got.
I'm not what you've been needin'
And lies are what you're feedin' to me.
Boy, you say you love me but I know,
Oh, it's all talk, babe, you love me not.

Verse
She found out that you had a girl,
And now you're all alone.
Don't ask for my forgiveness
And don't call me on the phone.
Now you've got a reputation
Of tearing up girls's hearts.
You build up all their confidence,
Then shred their bliss apart.

Chorus

Bridge
Even though you broke my heart,
And stepped on all the pieces,
I'm already over you.
I've got others who care for me,
Others who're there for me,
So why the hell would I need you?

I'd always known that you were cheatin',
I let my poor heart take a beatin',
Cos I hoped that one day you'd love what you got.
I wasn't what you needed,
I was sick of all the lies that
you were feedin' to me.
They all thought you were the sweetheart,
But I never once forgot
Even though you promised me that you'd love me forever,
It was all talk babe...
You love me... you love me... you love me not.
