The way your fingers lace in a perfect fit with mine

It was never just your voice

But the pitch of your tone when you sing under your breath

The soft sound of your breathing as you sleep

The way your words curl around my ears and soothe me

It was never just your arms

But the way they subconsciously pull me closer in your sleep

The way they offer shelter and safety

The way they hold me while I break, strong and protective

It was never just your laugh

But the way I can't help but to smile when I hear it

The way it brightens your entire face
