The Balance

A poem about how I like to think that life works

In the beginning it is always dark
Then a small glimmer of light starts to shine
You feel scared and excited as it grows
But then as all the darkness fades away

You find yourself in a new adventure
Vaguely remembering the life you had
And looking forward to the life you have
 Now you realize to fear not the dark

To reject darkness is to reject light
The fact we know about it is a gift
Because it's what makes our lives more precious
So it's important that we remember

The best thing that we can do is be happy
And live to preserve the balance of life
Before we each have to face the darkness
Only to wake up to new adventures

A life lived in fear is not a life lived
