Romance

A poem I wrote about a loving couples first night together and what it might have both of them thinking.

Like a rose so delicate and fragile

It needs to be caressed by gentle hands

While its kiss brings a tear with your smile

The chance is given to explore new lands

 

What goes through the mind as it’s taking place

Thoughts of what was or thoughts of what could be

When all I feel is soothed by your embrace

For such a rare moment answered my plea

 

We use this night to express our feelings

And with our passion burning bright and pure

The crescent moon compliments the settings

As memories are made to our leisure

 

Only to awaken and discover

We'll have each other now and forever

I thought the poem was very romantic. It would be a good one to read on a first date with someone, because it sounds as though it would be for an occasion like that .
