Beloved

Beloved

A Poem by JacZero
"

A poem about what I think a father would feel about living with his newborn daughter.

"

I saw her and thought she came from heaven

Her words seem to sway through me like music

I thank God for this elegant maiden

Showing me how not to be so basic

With skin as soft as velvet rose petals

Hair that flows gracefully with the winds breeze

Her eyes are captivating as crystals

Seeing her smile makes me wish time would freeze

She makes my life an adventure fulfilled

The love she gives is more precious than gold

At the end of each day she leaves me thrilled

This love is not something that was foretold

Watching her grow to look like her mother

Makes me happy to be called a father

The last two lines sum it all up nicely. Rhyming has never been easy for me, so I give you extra points for that. Kudos.
