Hearts Wrath

A poem that I had written about what I think a man in love might be expressing when he is fighting to protect the person that brings him great joy in his life.

Feel the wrath of my heart.

As it burns with a great desire

To reach that whom I love.

My light when in darkness

Will not be taken from me.

 

Bear witness my strength

To the promise we made.

The oath of togetherness

Which fuels my passion

To be reunited with my devotion.

 

The bond between hearts

Insures our existence.

We hold no regrets

And we’ll always be here

To light each others darkest hour.

 

Watch as my heart ignites.

With the hope of destiny

That I may have courage

To be the man I am.

Feel the wrath of my heart.

I love this. This really is an amazing poem. Very powerful in a soft way. One line seemed off tho, when you said "To reach that whom I love.". I don't know what it is about that line but it's driving me nuts. Something about the 'that' doesn't fit. idk. Leave it if you want to. Love this poem. :D
