I wanted to write a poem that captures the heart of what positives and negatives we're faced with as humans. As well as remind us all about the importance of togetherness and love. Hope you like it.

Human

Life can be a pain

It can hurt you, scare you, and even kill you

The world is filled with billions of people

And like you, they all feel

Even the most loud and outspoken person has inner demons

The strong silent types shoulder more love than you think

While the highly intelligent hide their doubt

We’re all afraid of something

Rejection, death, pain, loneliness, failure

We all know these words, some more than others

Not everyone is born to a loving family

Heroes don’t always come to save the day

And nobody lives forever

There are times when you want to quit

Times when you want to run away

You begin to wish you were never born

The feeling of envy towards those that have more than you hits

And you begin to grow hatred

Violence springs forth out of you like a hurricane

Emotions run you dry

And through all that is negative comes a greater positive

Life can be a delight

You find the embrace of a loved one

Feelings you had thought you lost return

We all feel

We can’t have our positives without our negatives

And we can’t have our positives without each other

We’re all afraid of something

But together we find the strength to win

A little kindness goes a long way

It’s alright to be afraid

You’re much stronger than you think you are
