Radio Waves

Radio Waves

A Poem by Astroboy

I used to live inside your room, beside you when you slept

I’d wake you in the morning; I’d shutdown when you left

But now I live above the water, teetering above the water

About to fall into the water, just inches from the edge

You had too many drinks one night; I played against the candle light,

Some covers of Berlin

Your hair so long and curly, it brushed against my chin

It flicked and snagged and pulled me to the bubbles on your skin

And

My faithful listener, now that you are here

Feel the kick of my electric world, where song bleeds into fear

As my sparks ignite your nerves, our symmetry is seen

Our bodies scream together through electrocuted steam

Sinking black behind your eyes while watching all the light

I fizzle in the bathtub

And take away your life.
