The Skeleton Boot

The Skeleton Boot

A Poem by Jacob
"

Open to interpretation

"

Leather footwear sold at the shop

Tag marked with its origin

Leather footwear made at the shop

By shaking hands that single-handedly pay for their family

Leather hides on the cold metal shelves

A dark-haired woman child stocks the warehouse

Leather skinned from a dead cow’s corpse

More cows shipping tomorrow

The birth of a calf, leather

The mother is crying, she knows her son’s future

Leather tear drop design on the boot
