In class

A Poem by jacobballenger

Sitting here in class, awaiting the bell's shrill ding.
Thinking of all in life, for life is everything.
And as i think of life, I realize it isn't too bad
So go forth into your life, and grasp what i never had.

I've missed out on a lot in my short life,
except for despair, and all of the strife.
They have a way of creeping up on me.
So I shut the door so they'd let me be.

Now sitting in the dark, alone and afraid
regretting the past, the decisions I've made.
You can look into my eyes and see all the pain
seared in as memories that always will remain.

I look up to the moon and imagine the distance
miles and miles away from my s****y existence.
Now I burst through closed doors and into the light
sick of the dark, the moon, and the night.
