Blue September SkyA Poem by Jacob ClarkA 9/11 tributeJacob Clark 2/22/15
Beneath a blue September sky, No one really knows why We were hit by cowards from behind Who won’t fight but hit in the blind.
Beneath that blue September sky, A plane hit our towers up so high. So unexpected, such a surprise, All across the country could be heard the cries.
Smoke covered up the blue September sky, Letting us know of the people soon to die. A part of each of us fell from the towers that day, We all knew that someone had to pay.
Under the darkness of the September sky, Pieces of glass and steel began to fly. Everyone who fell had no idea how, But black or white, friend or foe, it made no difference now.
The next day, under a blue September sky, Every one of us hung our heads to cry. It made us somehow all the same, And we vowed to not let the departed have died in vain.
Now under the sun or stars, No matter where we are, We are resurrected from death, To let the world know that there will always be another breath.
In memory of those who died, Under that blue September sky, Though we may shed a tear, The end of us is nowhere near, No matter what you do to us we’ll always be here.
