Excerpt twoA Story by Mike Lambfrom Jack's Inferno, chapter 28There's a yellow square of light up ahead. We move towards it. The light grows brighter. The square becomes four smaller squares. A windowpane. A house. A gingerbread house. With little frosted shingles. Looks like a trap. Screw it, I'm in a foolish mood today. "Well, let's go check it out. Maybe somebody in there can give us directions." "Yeah, or maybe they'll just kill us," Karl points out (always the pessimist). "What's the point of being dead if you're still afraid to get killed once in a while?" He seems satisfied with that logic. We proceed to the house. The lights go off. The door opens without being touched. Yes, Mr. Gingerbread House...you're very spooky. We are all deeply chilled by your creepy haunted house antics. © 2010 Mike LambReviews
