A Story by Mike Lamb
"

from Jack's Inferno, chapter 28

"

There's a yellow square of light up ahead. We move towards it. The light grows brighter. The square becomes four smaller squares. A windowpane. A house.

A gingerbread house. With little frosted shingles.

Looks like a trap. Screw it, I'm in a foolish mood today.

"Well, let's go check it out. Maybe somebody in there can give us directions."

"Yeah, or maybe they'll just kill us," Karl points out (always the pessimist).

"What's the point of being dead if you're still afraid to get killed once in a while?"

He seems satisfied with that logic. We proceed to the house. The lights go off. The door opens without being touched. Yes, Mr. Gingerbread House...you're very spooky. We are all deeply chilled by your creepy haunted house antics.

yer just messin' with my reviews aren't ya?

The "pull-back" focus thing is always fun. I'm finding it very funny Jack and Coal are even bothering to ask for directions in hell.

Once again Mike, you take a nice innocent adage like "what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger" and twist it into "What's the point of being dead if you're still afraid to get killed once in a while?"

love it.
