Who I was

Who I was

A Poem by Jack...

Thank you to my good friend Zahra for the graphic.

Who I was

Blurred, these tracks of memories

Beyond the dreams that I may seek

Lost in windblown sanctity

Of roaring steel on endless plains

Adrift along these boundaries

Singing songs of desperate days

Within my mind…alone…wandering

Seeking that which is not forgotten

This fight to stave off destinations

Where frowning faces paint sad reflections

At every stop along the way

With flashing crossings in broken trust

And still the rumble feeds my heart

With hope that this line will soon end

Remembering me for who I was

And not what I have become…

Sad days have a come, I lost in my sense of direction, not sure; where am I, if I only knew where I was going, where I'm taking myself. Just know that what I want is not within reach as it's freely in my mind to recollect, fogged by my own demise shutting happiness to a mute. I was once, wasn't I??? I have been blurred by so much down fall I can not see or conceive clearly. Time moves faster than I want it to, the next day gone, wishing to stop the lose of, leaving a gradually withered heart and stop mourning in my grave too far deep to get out for something far better supposing to come along, a hand perhaps to help me climb out. No one wants to be around this type. Distastes comes to their mouth as they leave the table for something less depressing, trying to bring those under in the same. What have I done to end up here, where I don't belong...

This came to me quick. You know me. ;o) Such imagery comes off your piece as if I'd been there. brilliantly done my friend.

very deep and sad at the same time, it's very hard for anyone to look back at what he or she was specially in those darkening days that we all gone through but I think if you're surrounded with your love ones, that place no matter how dreary you think it is, there will be always a beacon of hope waiting to be observed and seen, and you have thankfully seen it Jack.
GOD bless you.

A travel from past to the present then towards the future. A slow train journey, a window seat with better view of the scenery (which never travel along with us).

A different portray of life... Thanks for sharing...

There's a degree of sadness, within this poem, of a person, who has lost their sense of direction, by seeking out, a past that doesn't exist anymore. Of a time, clouded by nostalgia, whether for better or for worse.
