Life can be so hard

Life can be so hard

A Poem by Jack...
"

More rhyming practice

"

Life can be so hard

Stained by the illusion

Comets in my hair

Pardon the intrusion

Is anybody there

Stuck alone and reading

Words upon the page

Everyone is bleeding

Prancing on the stage

Masters of invention

Coupled up by none

Questioning intention

When the day is done

Dreams along the ocean

Beaches white with fear

Such a silly notion

Waves can shed a tear

Footprints left to wander

Washed out by the tide

Memories I ponder

Time to run and hide

Still you keep on looking

There upon your seat

Shouldn’t you be cooking

Something very sweet

I can’t stand this feeling

Waiting by the door

Moments time is stealing

Couldn’t ask for more

Just send me a greeting

Not some Hallmark card

Or I’ll run retreating

Life can be so hard

Rhymes don't have to be perfect. Like "the retard wore a leotard" or "my gums ache when I masturbate." It helps when they're a little weird too. Anyway, good rhyme and flow here. A mighty fine job.

BR, laughter comes easy when you're around. Thanks so much.
I love this, and the form and font choice are perfect.

Here's your greeting, Jack--
It's not a Hallmark card--
May our life be easy; (Well actually, I do sound like a Hallmark card...)
May it not be hard;
May it fill with fancies,
Light as foam and free;
May you find that life
Has beauty you can see.

all the world loves her....all the world cries...all the world close their hearts....every time she dies.....I don't know where this stuff comes from Jack but here you go. It is the message that repeats in my mind as I read your poem. Hope it is of some value to you:) Your a great poet!

Thanks so very much my friend. Not sure that is what I felt when writing it, but you never know with.. read more
i am reading this with the thought of Noah's Ark..

the ocean, the water, the ark...all the poets suffering, all those writing about pain...all in the ark safely, as the rest perish...

figuratively of course...the ark measured in cubits...is love measured that way also?

who knows...but yes, there is illusion and despair...

and we need some kind of a starting over.

this really moves me, Jack.

Thanks so much Jacob, I am thrilled you enjoyed this.
Indeed. Life can be hard along with all its aspects. Love needs sacrifice of time, sweat and blood. I saw in the night sky some comets so one went through your hair Jack...lol
A wonderful rhyming poem...May love bring you all right sailing boats...:).........................

Hmm either a Pecorino Toscano or Robiola Piemonte would probably go best...
